6.17.1. Installation of Sed
Prepare Sed for compilation:
./configure --prefix=/usr --bindir=/bin --htmldir=/usr/share/doc/sed-4.2.1
The meaning of the new configure option:

--htmldir -
This sets the directory where the HTML documentation will be installed to.
Compile the package:
make
Generate the HTML documentation:
make html
To test the results, issue:
make check
Install the package:
make install
Install the HTML documentation:
make -C doc install-html
